American Flags and Virginia Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, June 25th at the Capitol complex in Virginia in honor of US Army Private First Class Vincent Ellis.
Flags are also authorized for display at half-staff in the County of Arlington, the City of Alexandria and the City of Suffolk.
American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, June 26th in the state of Michigan in honor of US Army Sgt. Joseph Lilly.
According to the office of the governor:
Sgt. Lilly died June 14 of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 18th Engineer Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. Lilly was deployed to Iraq from July 2009 through August 2010, and was serving his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.
