Alaska Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, January 13th in the state of Alaska in honor of former State Chief Justice Robert Boochever.

According to the office of the governor:
Boochever served in the U.S. Army from 1941 until 1945, when he was discharged with the rank of captain. He served as Chief Justice of the Alaska Supreme Court from 1975 to 1978, and on the 9th Circuit from 1980 through 1986.

According to the office of the governor:
Army Specialist Ronald H. Wildrick, Jr. died on December 11, 2011 in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

American Flags and New Mexico Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, January 12th in the state of New Mexico in honor of Sergeant Pernell Herrera.

According to the office of the governor:
New Mexico National Guard Sgt. Pernell Herrera passed away after suffering cardiac arrest while serving in Afghanistan on December 31. Sgt. Herrera was the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal (Expeditionary), Global War on Terrorism Medal (Service), Army Service Ribbon, and the Army Overseas Service Ribbon.

Half-Staff Michigan Flags – Honoring Matthew Schwartz

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, January 13th in the state of Michigan in honor of USAF Technical Sgt Matthew Schwartz.

According to the office of the governor:
US Air Force Technical Sergeant Matthew S. Schwartz died Jan. 5 in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan when his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device. He was an explosive ordnance disposal specialist assigned to the 90th Civil Engineer Squadron at F.E.Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.

His awards and decorations include: the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Air Force Combat Action Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, three Bronze Stars with two oak leaf clusters and one V device (the final bronze star issued for heroism).

Alaska Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, January 12th in honor of former State Representative Edmund “Ed” Orbeck.

According to the office of the governor:
Rep. Orbeck served on the Fairbanks City Council and represented Fairbanks for five terms in the state House before joining Governor Jay Hammond’s administration as labor commissioner, where he served for eight years.

Half-Staff New Jersey Flags – Honoring Ronald Wildrick Jr.

American Flags and New Jersey Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, January 12th in the state of New Jersey in honor of US Army Spec. Ronald H. Wildrick Jr.

According to the office of the governor:
US Army Specialist Ronald Wildrick lost his life while serving his country in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Specialist Wildrick was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 35th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and also served in the U.S. Army Continental Color Guards.

Specialist Wildrick has received some of our nation’s highest military honors, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, Global War onTerrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Basic Parachutist Badge. Posthumously he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, NATO Medal, and Combat Infantryman Badge.

Half-Staff Kentucky Flags – Honoring Mikayla Bragg

According to the office of the governor:
Spc. Mikayla A. Bragg died Dec. 21 in Afghanistan. She was assigned to the 201st Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.

William Coleman was Deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department who was fatally shot in the line of duty while responding to a burglary.
