Half-Staff North Carolina Flag – Honoring Calvin Murrow

North Carolina State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, May 10th in honor of NC Senator Calvin Coolidge Murrow.

Senator Murrow represented Guilford County in the NC Senate from 1969 – 1977 and was a member and chairman of the North Carolina State Ports Authority from 1973 – 1976. Senator Murrow served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II where he participated in the liberation of Guam in 1944.

Half-Staff New Jersey State Flags – Honoring Eric Christian

American Flags and New Jersey State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, May 10th in honor of US Marine Staff Sergeant Eric Christian. Staff Sgt. Christian died while serving in Afghanistan on May 4th. Christian was assigned to the 2nd Marine Special Operations Battalion based at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
