Half-Staff Michigan Flags – Honoring Philip Mastin

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, December 3rd through Saturday, December 15th in honor of former State Senator Philip Mastin.

According to the office of the governor:
Mastin began his public service career in the 1960s after working as a designer in the automotive industry. During a 25-year period, he served the people of Michigan in various elected and appointed positions, including Hazel Park city councilman, Oakland County supervisor, Oakland County commissioner, Pontiac city manager, 69th District state representative, and 8th District state senator. Mastin also served two terms as president of the Mental Health Association in Michigan and was a member of the National Mental Health Association’s executive committee and board of directors. He retired in 1994.

Half-Staff Wyoming Flags – Honoring Mike Svilar

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

Wyoming State Flags to fly at half-staff Tuesday, December 4th at the Capitol in Cheyenne and in Fremont County in honor of former State Senator Mike Svilar. Senator Svilar represented Fremont County in the Wyoming House of Representatives from 1965-1966 and the Wyoming State Senate from 1967-1969.
