Half-Staff New York Flags – Honoring Nicholas Reid
Monday, December 17th, 2012American Flags and New York Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, December 20th in the State of New York in honor of US Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas Reid.
According to the office of the governor:
Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas J. Reid died in Landstuhl, Germany from wounds suffered in Sperwan Village, Afghanistan when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Reid was assigned to the 53rd Ordnance Company (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) of the 3rd Ordnance Battalion (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.
