Capt. Ryan Hall died as a result of an airplane crash in Africa last month. He was assigned to the 319th Special Operations Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Fla.

American Flags and Washington State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, March 9th in Washington State in honor of US Marine Corps Lance Corporal Nickoulas H. Elliott. Lance Cpl Elliott died in a helicopter training accident on February 22nd.

Gary Kubly served as a Minnesota State Representative from 1997 to 2003, and as a Minnesota State Senator from 2003 to 2012. During his distinguished legislative career, Senator Gary Kubly was a tireless advocate for the important contributions agriculture makes to Minnesota’s economy and its people, and was also a leader on issues concerning rural health care, wind energy, jobs, and education. Among his many legislative accomplishments, Senator Gary Kubly was most proud of his record of reaching out to both sides of the aisle and treating all people with kindness and respect. In addition to serving his state, Senator Kubly also served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Lt. Col. John D. Loftis died Feb. 25 from wounds received during an attack at the Interior Ministry, Kabul, Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was assigned to the 866th Air Expeditionary Squadron, Kabul, Afghanistan.
