American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, June 20th through Thursday, June 21st in the state of Michigan in honor of former state Senator William Van Regenmorter.

According to the office of the governor:
Prior to his retirement, Van Regenmorter served four House terms beginning in 1982, three Senate terms beginning in 1990 and was elected to the House twice more, beginning in 2002. During his tenure in the Michigan Legislature, he authored Michigan’s Crime Victim’s Rights Act of 1985 and sponsored legislation to encourage recycling, reduce crime and protect abused children.

American Flags and Virginia Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, June 21st at the Capitol complex in Virginia in honor of US Army CWO5 John Pratt.

Flags are also authorized for display at half-staff in the County of Arlington and the County of Fairfax.

American Flags and Maine Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, June 20th in Caribou, Maine in honor of US Army Sergeant First Class Daniel Alward.

According to the office of the governor, SFC Alward died June 9th. He was assigned to Company B, 3rd Bn 1st Special Weapons Training Group, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

American Flags and Maryland Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, June 20th in the state of Maryland in honor of US Marine Sgt. Julian Chase. Sgt. Chase died May 28th in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

American Flags and Illinois Flags to fly at half-staff Sunday, June 17th through Tuesday, June 19th in the state of Illinois in honor of US Army Specialist Bryant Luxmore.

American Flags and Washington State Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, June 22nd in Washington State in honor of US Army First Lieutenant Mathew Fazzari.

According to the office of the governor:
US Army 1st Lieutenant Mathew Fazzari died June 6th in Afghanistan when his helicopter crashed after receiving enemy fire.

Arizona Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, June 15th in honor of Arizona Fire Engine Boss Anthony Polk, who lost his life in an accident in southern Arizona while en route to the Montezuma Fire.

American Flags and Maine Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday, June 16th in the state of Maine in honor of US Army Captain John “Jay” Brainard III.

According to the office of the governor:
Captain Brainard died May 28, 2012, in Afghanistan. He was an active duty helicopter pilot assigned to the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade.

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, June 11th through Wednesday, June 13th in the state of Michigan in honor of Judge Dennis Murphy.

According to the office of the governor:

Judge Murphy served the people of Crawford, Kalkaska and Otsego counties as circuit court judge following his appointment by Gov. John Engler in 1996.  Previously, he worked as an assistant prosecutor in Lapeer, as drug unit chief in Flint, county prosecutor in Gaylord and as chief legal counsel for the Michigan Department of Corrections.

American Flags and New Jersey Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, June 8th in the state of New Jersey in honor of US Army Pfc Leroy DeRonde III.

According to the office of the governor:

US Army Pfc Leroy DeRonde III was assigned to F Company, 125th Brigade Support Battalion attached to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.  Private First Class DeRonde III tragically lost his life in Afghanistan while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
