American Flags and Kentucky Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, September 9th in the commonwealth of Kentucky in honor of Spc. Michael C. Roberts.

American Flags and New York Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, September 2nd in the state of New York in honor of Army Private First Class Jesse W. Dietrich.

Army Private First Class Jesse W. Dietrich died of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division’s 3rd Brigade Combat Team stationed at Fort Drum. Private First Class Dietrich was from Venus, Texas.

American Flags and Kansas Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, September 2nd, in the state of Kansas in honor of of Sergeant Alexander Bennett.

SGT Bennett was assigned to the 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, U.S. Army Reserve, New Century AirCenter, Olathe, Kansas.

American Flags and Maryland Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, September 1st, in the state of Maryland in honor of Army Sgt. Jameel T. Freeman.

American Flags and Massachusetts Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, September 2nd, in the commonwealth of Massachusetts in honor of First Lieutenant Timothy J. Steele.

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, August 29th in the state of Michigan in honor of US Army Corporal Joseph A. VanDreumel.

According to the office of the Governor:
VanDreumel was assigned to the 1st Battalion of the 2nd Infantry Regiment in the 172nd Infantry Brigade stationed in Grafenwoehr, Germany. He joined the Army in January 2010 and trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky, before serving in Germany from August 2010 through July 2011 and then Afghanistan. VanDreumel’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Combat Action Badge. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal, NATO Medal, and the Afghanistan Campaign Service Medal posthumously. He was also posthumously promoted from the rank of specialist to corporal.
