Cameroon Flags

The flag of Cameroon is comprised of a vertical tricolor of green, red, and yellow, left to right. Originally adopted in 1975, these colors are common pan-African colors. Featured in the center of the red stripe is a yellow five-pointed star symbolizing the unity of the nation. The green in the flag represents the rich forest vegetation of the southern part of Cameroon; the red stands for the nation’s struggle for independence and unity; and the yellow symbolizes the sun of Cameroon’s northern savannas.
