Half-Staff Iowa Flags – Honoring Louis Longman
American Flags and Iowa Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday, April 12th through Sunday, April 13th in Iowa in honor of Louis Longman. Longman was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army Air Corp who was last seen in 1944 flying his P-38J aircraft from New Guinea. The flight unit encountered severe weather and Longman and crew were declared missing. Remains of the plain recently allowed the JPAC to declare his remains recovered.
