The Revolutionary War produced many flags. One that is still popular today is the Green Mountain Boys Flag. The flag was the regiment, or battle, flag of a group of soldiers knows as the Green Mountain Boys. They were made up of militia members from the colonies of New Hampshire and New York. This general area later became the State of Vermont. The group fought with numerous cannons and mortars and served under the command of Ethan Allen during battles at Fort Ticonderoga and Fort Crown Point. The flag is still used today as the symbol for the Vermont National Guard. The Green Mountain Boys flag is primarily green in color with a blue canton. Within the canton are 13 stars, representing the original 13 colonies, which are arranged in an irregular pattern.
