Bhutan Flags

The two diagonal halves of the flag of Bhutan, adopted in 1969, are saffron yellow in the upper left and orange in the lower right. Along the diagonal of the flag is a dragon with jewels in its claws, symbolizing wealth and the people protecting the nation. The dragon, which represents Druk, the Tibetan name for the kingdom of Bhutan, is white to symbolize purity. The colors reflect the secular and spiritual authority of the dynasty.
