Half-Staff Arizona Flags – Michael Elm

American Flags and Arizona Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, October 31st in the state of Arizona in honor of Army Specialist Michael Elm.

According to the office of the governor:
Specialist Elm died October 14 in Khowst, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He will be laid to rest on Monday Oct 31, 2011 at 9 am Eastern time at Arlington National Cemetery.

Half-Staff Colorado Flags – Robert B. Cowdrey

American Flags and Colorado Flags to fly at half-staff Saturday, October 29th in the state of Colorado in honor of Staff Sgt. Robert B. Cowdrey.

According to the office of the governor:
Cowdrey, 39, of Atwater, Ohio, died Oct. 13 in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained during combat operations. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, N.C. Cowdrey was a 1990 graduate of La Junta High School. He is survived by his wife and three sons. A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29, in La Junta.

Half-Staff Kentucky Flags – Michael D. Elm

American Flags and Kentucky Flags to fly at half-staff Monday, October 31st in the commonwealth of Kentucky in honor of Spc. Michael D. Elm.

Spc. Elm died Oct. 14 in Khowst, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.

Half-Staff Pennsylvania Flags – Thomas Digman Jr

American Flags and Pennsylvania Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, October 28th in the state of Pennsylvania in honor of 2nd Lt. Thomas Digman Jr. and Staff Sgt. Joseph J. Karaso.

According to the office of the governor:
Pennsylvania will honor two World War II airmen whose remains were recently returned to the United States. Army Air Forces 2nd Lt. Thomas Digman Jr., of Pittsburgh, and Staff Sgt. Joseph J. Karaso, of Philadelphia, died in April 1944 when their plane went down during an Allied bombing raid over Germany. Their remains were recently returned to the U.S. for burial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Half-Staff Washington State Flags – Scott White

American Flags and Washington State Flags to fly at half-staff in memory of Washington State Senator Scott White. Flags will remain at half-staff through the completion of his memorial service.

Half-Staff Michigan Flags – Trevor Slot

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Friday, October 21st in the state of Michigan in honor of Walker Police Officer Trevor Slot.

According to the office of the governor:
Officer Slot, 41, of Grand Rapids, a nine-year veteran of the Walker Police Department, was killed Oct. 13 while attempting to deploy Stop Sticks on I-96 to end a car chase following a bank robbery. The suspects were shot and killed by police. Slot received numerous recognitions for his outstanding work while with the Walker Police Department.

Half-Staff New Jersey Flags – Joseph Wargo Jr

American Flags and New Jersey Flags to fly at half-staff Wednesday, October 19th in the state of New Jersey in honor of Mount Arlington Police Officer Joseph S. Wargo Jr.

According to the office of the governor:
Officer Wargo tragically lost his life in the line of duty while on patrol on Route 80 when his police car was struck by another vehicle.

Half-Staff Michigan Flags – Drew Russell

American Flags and Michigan Flags to fly at half-staff Thursday, October 20th in the state of Michigan in honor of US Army Capt. Drew Russell.

According to the office of the governor:
Capt. Russell was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colo. He joined the Army in 2008 and his first overseas deployment was to Afghanistan on June 13. His personal decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Parachutist Badge and the Overseas Service Bar. He was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart Medal, the NATO Medal and the Combat Action Badge.
